For over a century, Dachun Soap has embraced a philosophy of living in harmony with nature. Inspired by the belief of protecting the earth and caring for future generations, we continue to uphold the values of integrity, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
Passed down through three generations, Dachun Soap represents a legacy of dedication. The character “Lian” (煉) signifies the care and refinement devoted to every bar of soap—simple, pure, and thoughtfully crafted for both people and the planet.
Founded in 1923 in Dadaocheng as the Taiwan Soap Company, Dachun Soap was established during a time when modern hygiene practices were being introduced to Taiwan. It's original brand, Dachun Soap, provided essential daily products and became part of the collective memory and scent of the era for local residents.
In 1950, Mr. Li Shui-Tu inherited the Japanese soap-making craftsmanship and operated the business with a philosophy of living in harmony with the land. Later, the second generation, Mr. Li Wei-Hsin, expanded the company to its peak, transforming it into one of Taiwan’s most established soap manufacturers and laying a strong foundation in research, development, and production for future generations.
In 1923, during the Japanese colonial era, when modern hygiene practices were first being introduced to Taiwan, Mr. Inoue Kenshichi founded the Taiwan Soap Joint Venture Company (Dachun Soap) in Dadaocheng, Taipei, laying the foundation for what would become one of Taiwan’s most enduring soap brands.
With its highly acclaimed laundry soaps, Dachun Soap became one of Taiwan’s two leading soap manufacturers. Founder Mr. Inoue Kenshichi was honored with the title “Authority on Soap” for his exceptional expertise in soap making.
Mr. Li Shui-Tu founded Suiki Co., Ltd., specializing in the manufacturing and sale of candles and soap products.
Mr. Li Shui-Tu took over Dachun Soap, inheriting the Japanese craftsmanship of soap making and operating the business under the principle of living in harmony with the land.
Mr. Li Wei-Hsin succeeded his father’s business and expanded its reach, serving clients that included five-star hotels both in Taiwan and abroad.
Under the third generation of the Li family, Dachun Soap returned to its birthplace in Dadaocheng as a renewed brand, reviving the spirit and legacy of Dachun for a new era.
To celebrate the centennial of Dachun Soap, founded in 1923 by Mr. Inoue Kenshichi, we created the Centennial Classic Commemorative Soap, inspired by the name of Mr. Li Shui-Tu, the first-generation successor of the brand.
Drawing inspiration from the nurturing power of Water and the life-giving richness of Earth, this commemorative soap honors a century of craftsmanship, memories, and heritage while carrying Dachun’s enduring spirit into the future.
